Academic Word List - Group 1
The Academic Word List is a specialized list of words that one is likely to encounter while engaging in academic situations such as reading text books, listening to lectures or having conversations at the academic level. It is necessary to master this list of words in order to perform well on the IELTS and TOEFL exam.
Best practice is for you to download the file and then practice writing sentences with the words from the list. You also need to be comfortable with other forms of the words.
We've included an exercise section below as well which should help test your ability to use the words in the context of a sentence.
